HISTORY OF THE TEMPLE
Know the History
Sri Subrayappa and Sri Venkatesiah of Malidepalli Village, who were at the time managing the temple, entrusted the rights of management of the temple to Sri. T Rangaswamy Iyengar in the year 1934 with a condition that he carries out extensive repairs to the dilapidated structure and restore the temple to the status of Theertha Parigraham.

Between the years 1938 and 1940, Sri T. Rangaswamy Iyengar built the Mahadwaram, Rajagopuram, Prakaram, and the Shri Padmavathi Thayar Sannidhi apart from carrying out the extensive renovations to the dilapidated Temple.

The Jeernodhara Prathista of the renovated temple was conducted as per Pancharatra Agama Siddhantham under the guidance of H.H Maha Vidwan Goshteepuram Late Sreeman Sowmya Narayana Swamy and H.H the Late Sri Thilasthanam Shatagopa Ramanuja Yatheendra Maha Desikan.

Sri T. Rangaswamy Iyengar introduced elaborate Nithya Kainkaryams as per Agama Shastras starting from Suprabhatham, Vishwaroopa Seva, Abhigamana Aradhanam, Madhyahna Aradhanam, Naivedhyam, Maha Mangalarathi, Shaathumorai, Theertha Prasada Viniyogam, Saayam Aradhanam, Naivedhyam, Maha Mangala Arathi, Shaathumorai, Theertha Prasada Viniyogam, and Shayanotsavam. The first Brahmotsavam was believed to be conducted in the year 1940. Koti Archana, Sahasra Kalasha Abhishekam, and Theppotsavam were organized during his period, which lasted up to August 1954.

The management of the temple, on the demise of Sri. T. Rangaswamy Iyengar in 1954, passed on to Sri. K Narasimha Acharya (Known as Postmaster Dore ). In the year 1958 The management was taken over by Sri. Kommandur Venkatachar, an officer in AG's office Bangalore, who shifted his residence to the village. During his period he was ably assisted by Sri. Kotur Ramaswamy Iyengar a lot of additional developments have been made in the temple. Laksharchana to Thayar was conducted and concluded in the year 1962. Special homams and Shanti was conducted during Ashtagrahakootam in February 1962. Also the Dhwajasthambham was replaced with the generous contribution from Sri B.R. Pantulu.
After the demise of Sri. K Venkatachar, in the year 1973 the management was taken over by Sri. Kotur Ramaswamy Iyengar till his demise at Karumbatti in the year 1983. From the year 1983 till 1996 the temple affairs were managed by Sri. K.V. Srinivasan, Sri. S.K Sundaram and Sri. Budagur Krishnaswamy.
After Sri Budagur Krishnaswamy Iyengar relinquished the post of managing trustee in 1996, the management of the temple was entrusted to Sri. S. Kannan, grandson of Sri T. Rangaswamy Iyengar.

"SRINIVASA SWAMY ENDOWMENT FUND", a trust set up by Sri. S. Kannan to fund renovation expenses and organize various utsavams and poojas in the temple. After a lapse of 58 years renovated the Rajagopuram, the Mahadhwaram, Vimana Gopurams, Dhwajasthambam, and other facilities of the temple.
the Jeernodhara, Mahasamprokshanam of the renovated temple was performed on 15th March 1998 under the guidance of H.H Sri Srirangam Srimad Andavan Sri Sriranga Ramanuja Maha Desikan (Periyashramam).
The Mahasamprokshanam of the Dhwaja Sthamba Kavacham was performed in November 2000 and H.H Sri Sri Rangapriya Sripada Shrihi Swamigal visited the temple and performed Mangala shasanam. Theppotsavam was celebrated at Karumbatti in the Kuppaiah cheruvu lake in 2002, after a gap of 60 years. It is believed that the Lord, having concluded his ceremonious travels on land, should also have an aquatic sojourn to conclude the year. Having given an opportunity to terrestrial beings to offer their worship, the Lord also gives an opportunity to aquatic beings to worship him during the Theppotsavam. Sri.S. Kannan relinquished the trusteeship during September 2012.
From 2012 Sri. K. Narayana has been appointed as managing trustee of the temple.
After Sri. S. Kannan relinquished his trusteeship, to implement developmental works at the temple a society was formed during September 2012. The society is known as " KARUMBATTI SRI PADMAVATHI SRINIVASA SWAMY SEVA SAMITHI (R)" the founder committee members are shown separately under the heading of "Trustees and committee"
Outside walls of sanctum sanctorum, shukanashini, and inside walls cladding work with polished granite slab was done by philanthropists of Karumbatti village.
So far the above committee of seva samithi completed the following developement work with the generous contributions from members and public at large.
1. Replacement of old dilapidated asbestos sheet covering at both prakarams with galvanised steel sheets with structure.
2. Replacement of wooden partitions and doors with steel pipes and steel doors at Padmavathi thayar sannidhi .
3. Relaying of flooring with granite at shukanashini of main sanctum/sanctorum.
4.Construction of a new cement wall with RCC pillars and beams at the rear portion of the prakaram (photo of the wall is shown)
5. Madapalli of the temple completely renovated by providing plastering to walls and pillars, and replacing flooring with new granite slabs.
6. Quarters provided for archakas, paricharaka and other temple properties have been renovated for better use.

The seva samithi is proposing to perform renovation work of Rajagopuram, Vimana gopurams, sanctum and sanctorum of all deities and perform samprokshana during the year 2022.
